DiverseCity onBoard is a national initiative working towards diversifying not-for-profit boards to better represent the population they serve. DiverseCity onBoard strives to educate and match those interested in board governance opportunities with boards looking for qualified candidates. Bow Valley College, through the CEIIA, is a partner with the national DiverseCity onBoard initiative and is pleased to offer this unique program in Calgary.
On March 13, 2017 DiverseCity onBoard Calgary hosted Board Match 2017, Speed Dating for Board Members.
The event brought together 11 boards and 130 interested candidates. The evening offered boards a chance to market directly to candidates. Board members educated those in attendance about the mission, values, and operations of their organizations. They met potential volunteers for board and commitee positions and volunteer opportunities.
Growing steadily since January 2016, DiverseCity onBoard Calgary is making a positive impact on boards across our community. Through inclusion and accessible training DiverseCity onBoard Calgary is quickly becoming the go-to program for boards and governance training.
