The Centre for Excellence in Immigrant and Intercultural Advancement is leading a two-year project, funded by Calgary Learns, to create professional development workshops to strengthen the teaching skills of ELL practitioners working with adult refugee learners.

Teaching ESL Literacy: Skills and Activities

A number of refugee English language learners have literacy needs. In this webinar, you will identify emerging literacy skills to support the development of literacy and describe activities to support these skills. 

Towards Creating a Welcoming Space

Intercultural competency is not just a buzzword these days. This webinar will deepen your awareness of culture and its impact on behaviour and worldview. In this webinar, you will examine the importance of intercultural competence in the classroom and develop strategies for mindful observation inquiry. 

Cultivating Inclusion and Belonging
