As the Intercultural Centre (IC) nears its 6th anniversary, we look back in amazement at the experiences held within our four walls. Many of these events though, were only made possible by the talents, stories, and skills of our very own Bow Valley College community. It is their time, knowledge, and volunteerism that has enabled our campus to partake in a myriad of opportunities to learn from, reflect on, and build memories with.
And so it is with appreciation that the IC holds its first annual recognition event, Gratias Agere: A Gathering of Gratitude. This invite only event will honor the staff, faculty, and students that have contributed to the IC’s dynamic programming over the past academic year, from September 2018 until April 2019.
This year’s IC theme underlined global citizenship, a quality that each of our honourees represents. As individuals, they have exemplified leadership, initiative, and a willingness to transcend difference, through storytelling, and skill sharing.
Some of the events that our honouress have contributed to, include:
- Intercultural Week 2019, Kaleidoscope: Tilt your Perspective
- Student Insights Series
- Teach Your Talent Series
- TEDxBowValleyCollege 2018, Lagom: Life. Simply.
Do you have a story or skill you would like to share? Email the IC at firstname.lastname@example.org, and let us know how you would like to be part of our upcoming programming. Presenters are equipped with public speaking skills, workshop design skills, and all efforts are added to students’ co-curricular records. Remember to stay abreast of all of our unique workshops and opportunities through our events calendar.
Get involved, and be part of next year’s recognition event!
