There are great minds at work in Calgary. Movers, shakers, thinkers, and creators. Here at the Intercultural Centre, we have been fortunate to host individuals and organizations who continue to make Calgary a vibrant place to live.
This semester is no different:
- In September, we will be hosting Paul Hughes, President and CEO of Grow Calgary, not-for-profit organization that hosts a community garden near Canada Olympic Park. All produce grown is donated to the Interfaith Food Bank.
- In October, we will be hosting the talented Tara Wilson, Creative Director and founder of PULSE Studios. Tara has opened up her own dance studio despite multiple odds and given back to the city by contributing to the growth of the hip hop community in Calgary.
- In November, as part of International Education Week, we will be hosting Mark Darling and his team from Ache Brasil Calgary, for a demonstration and teaching of Capoeira - the Brazilian marital art and dance form.
- Back by popular demand, we will be hosting another coffee workshop! In December, we will be bringing in renowned coffee roaster, Sebastian, of Phil and Sebastian. Sebastian will be speaking about coffee culture in Calgary and bringing samples from their establishment.
Are you involved with a community or familiar with someone that has made an impact in the city? We are always looking for new partners and collaborative initiatives. Stop by the Intercultural Centre, and let us know how you or those you know foster diversity and culture in Calgary!
The Intercultural Centre is located in N322 and is open from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Check out the Centre's event calendar for information on all our upcoming events.
