As part of our Cultural Insights series and just in time for Stampede season, the IC will host Historical Specialist, Christine Leppard, from the Calgary Stampede.  Attendees can look forward to an enthralling and informative hour on the history of how the Calgary Stampede came to be known as the greatest outdoor show on earth.  Travel back in time to the days of Guy Weadick, the first exhibition, rodeo and Stampede parade.  Curious about how pancake breakfasts came to be or the history of Elbow River Camp (formerly known as the Indian Village) at the Stampede grounds?  Full of fascinating stories that have shaped our western heritage and the culture of the Calgary Stampede, Christine’s engaging talk is sure to delight all.
