Project Partners

We have collaborated with our colleagues in the School of Health and Wellness for this project. We will draw on their expertise, industry relationships, and knowledge of clinical content to help us build a robust competency-based training module in which learners will be able to demonstrate their skills in a variety of relevant scenarios.

Project Description

Developed by School of Global Access language learning experts, this communication training module for Alberta’s Health Care Aide Workers is a set of workshops combined with coaching that focuses on health and safety communications training for English language learners and is an excellent complement to the Health Care Aide Certificate.

This training is for newcomers to Canada who have previously been or who are currently enrolled in the Health Care Aide program. Learners will be able to work with real-life scenarios, enabling them to make high-stakes safety decisions in a risk-free environment. The module aims to facilitate successful clinical placement outcomes by providing learners with the health and safety communication skills necessary to addresses workplace needs.
